The UC San Francisco community took a well-deserved pause from their daily routines during a three-day interactive wellness event on March 10-12 across both campuses. Titled “Pause to Play,” the summit focused on the seven pillars of wellness, while bringing together several hundred UCSF staff and learners to engage in activities about relaxation, connection and overall wellbeing.
Each day of the summit provided something unique for students, staff, and affiliates. On day one, tables lined Millberry Union at the Parnassus campus for the day’s resource fair highlighting various UCSF departments. Each registrant was presented with a stamp card designed to encourage visits to participating tables and fill their card.
Day two had participants gather at Koret Quad and Genentech Hall at the Mission Bay campus to learn how to incorporate play, creativity, and positivity into everyday life. This day’s activities included choosing zen tiles, light physical fitness, aromatherapy spray creations, and vision boards. Attendees also had a sneak peek at Student Mental Health and Wellbeing’s Wellness Hub that will be opening in Genentech Hall.
On day three, a virtual audience came together for an asynchronous event promoting the TAO Connect, which is a suite of online tools for life skills education, well-being, resilience and behavioral health.
One attendee said this event was just what they needed. “As a recent grad and staff member, this event couldn’t have come at a better time,” they said in their event feedback form. “Spring is always incredibly busy, and stepping away from my usual stressors to attend gave me the reset I didn’t realize I needed. I left feeling recharged, refocused, and ready to jump back in my work even stronger!”
More responses from the event rolled in from the post-event survey and included:
"All the representatives were great.... I met people I only knew by email. Great vibe. All good."
